What's On at College Farm

There will be an Introduction to UKCC course on the 17th January conducted by Anne Tezer (UKCC Coach), explaining everything you need to know about the UKCC, what the benefits are, the course content and training routes. Further details are available on line on the BD Northern web page, the day will start at 9pm and finish at 1pm, you need to have outdoor warm clothing as there will also be some coaching opportunities, but these will be held in the outdoor arena, so you will need to be appropriately dressed! There will also be an opportunity to ride if you would like to take part with your horse, email me  and I'll put you down for a place, the ridden places will be limited though, so it will be on a 'first come first serve basis'. Costs are £25.00 per person.

We are hoping that if there are enough of you interested, British Dressage will put together a UKCC Level 2 course in the Northern region, decide dates and organise you getting your training underway. The coaching days can be held here or at a centre nearer to you that might be more convenient. Please contact me so I am able to get a list of names to send to Head Office.

Other training days of interest, which would be excellent to have on your UKCC applications or for your 'Continuous Professional Development are:

International Rider Ruth Edge - Developing the Dressage and Event Horse - Sunday 22nd January 2012 - 10.30 - 3.00 at Blackdyke Farm, Carlisle

Emma Jablonski Equine Bio-Mechanics Lecture at Cyden Dressage, Grimsby on 9th January 7pm to 9pm and 10th January at College Farm Equestrian Centre, Notts. Costs are £10.00 BD members or £12.00 for non members.

Karen Thomson - Posture Analysis, using the horse simulator - 26th February at The Paddocks RC, Grantham, apply to Cathy Burrell

Plus, come and join us at (you need to book in with me first) at our Senior Camp in March for the morning, we will be at Willerby on Saturday the 31st of March with Spencer Wilton and Dan Sherriff, to watch them coaching and there will be a discussion group, the morning costs £5.00 and is a wonderful opportunity to watch and listen to expert coaching. We will also be providing the same opportunity for you at the BYRDS camp on the 17th of February Hannah Moody and Hannah Esberger coaching.

There is also the opportunity for those interested in becoming a BYRDS Assessor to participate in a training day on the 7th May at Willerby Hill, details can be found on the main page of the BD website in the news section.

The region will also be hosting 1st aid courses during 2012, there are two Safeguarding Children Workshops currently booked for 2012 and there will be further dates booked throughout the year. The first is being held at College Farm EC on the 7th February and the second is being held at Brooksby on the 5th of March, both start at  6pm and finish at  9pm, contact me via email if you would like to book in for any of the above, please get your applications in for all the above activities at least 10 days prior to the day.
